You'll see specific examples of what works and what doesn't when it comes to content and format, advice on current Minnesota Sales Tax laws, plus insider tips that will help you get paid faster. Novice or experienced, student or professional, this information is for you.

The panelists are here for one reason: to share their expertise with our community. They are not being paid and have taken considerable time and expense to be here and offer their sage advice. Additionally, this event has no “official” commercial sponsor and exhibitors attend for free.

Kat Dalager
Freelance Art Producer/Creative Wrangler

Kat’s diverse background as an art student, artist’s rep, photo studio manager, creative wrangler, art producer and photo consultant give her a  360-degree perspective of the advertising world. She’s worked at Campbell Mithun, Carmichael Lynch, The Martin Agency, Target, Best Buy and Olson. Clients have included Famous Footwear, St. Ives, Nexxus, TREsemmé, Frontier Communications, Wrangler, Polaris, Harley-Davidson, Saab, Finlandia Vodka, American Standard, Rollerblade, Seiko, and many more. She’s been fortunate enough to work with many incredible shooters over the years, both internationally and in her own backyard. As a consultant and advisor, Kat’s given presentations and workshops all over the country to photography professionals and students interested in learning some of the ins and outs of advertising. She firmly believes that leveling the playing field by freely sharing information keeps our industry strong.


Jason Cooper Hall
Art Buyer at Fallon

Jason has spent his days and nights in the Advertising and Entertainment world.  Currently an Art Buyer at Fallon, he has also worked at Martin Williams, Best Buy, and Dayton's.  He has worked on studio films as well as local independent projects, with 2 years working for the Coen Brothers in Los Angeles.  His uber-cute french bulldog "Ouie Pierre" almost has more friends on Facebook than him. They can usually be found walking along the river at St. Anthony Main.


Carolyn Potts 
Creative Consultant

Carolyn has over 30 years as a successful photography rep. Her photographers were hired by top ad agencies, design firms, corporations, and magazines around the world–and appeared regularly in award annuals.

Since 2004, Carolyn’s been providing her consulting clients with career-revitalizing portfolio edits and highly-effective photography marketing strategies. She contributes to the photo community via her newsletter, blog, and national speaking events. She provides photographers with the resources they need to survive and thrive in today's market. Her broad experience has enabled her to successfully guide her clients through downturns–which are inevitable cycles in the photo business. (She's grown through three other recessions also called "the worst downturn, ever!")

She’s a regular contributor to the ASMP Business Blog as well as a portfolio reviewer at PhotoPlusExpo, The Palm Springs Photo Festival, and several photography schools. Find Carolyn at Carolyn will be offering one on one consulting sessions on thursday for those interested more information HERE.


Mark Pakulski
Art Buyer at OLSON

Mark Pakulski is currently a Senior Art Buyer at Olson in Minneapolis with over 7 years of agency  experience including Fallon Minneapolis. Prior to entering the agency world, Mark worked held various freelance production roles on feature films, commercial and music video productions including Location Manager, Production Coordinator and Associate Producer.  Mark attended the Minneapolis College of Art + Design in the BFA photography program.


David Kelley
Photo Producer at Target

After 15 years of East Coast living, David has traded in NYC subways for Minneapolis skyways. David joins us after 13 years as Agent/Creative Director at the renowned agency Artists By Timothy Priano where he booked photographers, fashion stylists, hairstylists, makeup artists and manicurists.

During his tenure at Artists, David guided the careers of such industry heavyweights as James Murray, Laura Mercier, Serge Normant, Pati Dubroff and Oscar Blandi, among others.  He also served as the company’s Creative Director, overseeing marketing materials and sponsorships.
Prior to that, David worked at The Donna Karan Company and The Gap, Inc. producing photoshoots ranging from global ad campaigns to lookbooks.

David holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Journalism with a concentration in Radio & TV Broadcasing from Northeastern University.  In his free time, he enjoys travel, photography, live music, and playing with his Boston Terrier, Olive.


Robin Ogden

As a national photography rep for more than 25 years, Robin has an extensive knowledge of photography and photo shoots.  This spring she took a left turn and is now offering production services for advertising photographers.  These services include comprehensive estimating, negotiating fees and contracts, budget management in addition to all the aspects needed to produce successful photo shoots.

In addition to producing, Robin is now providing consulting and marketing services to photographers.  With a wealth of experience and a buyer’s eye, she is able to evaluate the portfolio presentation and website.  With her recommendations, photographers are able to strengthen their brand and approach clients with confidence that the are competitive in the market.


Lisa Crawford

Lisa has been a Senior Art Buyer at Martin Williams for last 9 years, prior to that she was a freelance art buyer/studio producer for 2 years and 4 years as photographer's producer at Parallel Productions.
